2013 Dodgers programI will let my appropriation of Willard Mullin’s classic cover to the Dodgers Year Book of 1955 (World Series, anyone?) speak for me today, after two more victories (4-2 on Tuesday and 5-4 in 12 innings last night) and another sweep.

Except for one thing! Way to go, Captain Clutch!

Andre Ethier pinches in a two-run homer in the ninth to tie the game. Adrian Gonzalez would go on to single in Yasiel "Don't Make Me Stop at First" Puig in the 12th.

Vin Scully has taken to calling Dodger Stadium the "Magic Castle."

So I’m walking out of the first Dodger game I paid for myself this year — we won, 4-2 — and this Mets fan in full jersey and frown walks past me. Obviously jealous that I can’t stop smiling, he mutters, “We’ll get you tomorrow.” To which I reply, “That’s what they all say!”

That’s what the Rays said (sweep!), that’s what the Cards said (we took 3 of 4), and that’s what the Cubs said (another sweep). So you can dream, Mets fans, but don’t count your chickens before the Dodgers have a chance to fry them up.

DodgersNot to worry: The Dodgers lost a game. Big deal! That’s only, like, No. 8 in the past 40 or so games. No biggie.

To worry: Matt Kemp is still hurt, and Hanley Ramirez is day-to-day.

Not to worry: Clayton Kershaw is fucking awesome.

To worry: Brandon League decidedly isn’t.

Not to worry: Five games out front of Arizona, and rumored to be the odds-on favorite to win the World Series.

To worry: I heard that from Charlie Steiner.

They have some of those 10-game miniplans in the Top Deck now. So I might be coming to the stadium soon. We’ll see. I’d hate to miss out on the post-season, if there is one.
